2018-19 scholarship application

form due 11:59 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, 2018

  • There’s nothing between you and a $1,000 scholarship but these five easy steps. And, well…the judgment of our selection committee. But since this form will time out after a brief period of inactivity, do yourself a favor and READ THROUGH THE ENTIRE APPLICATION FORM BEFORE BEGINNING. You’ll see why when you get to number three.
  • 1) You'll need to give us your contact info.

  • 2) Tell us a little bit about yourself.

  • 3) Submit your official Hh essay.

  • That’s right: an essay. Give us no more than 300 words on one (1) of the following prompts:
      1. If Helvetica’s so great, tell us why.
      2. President Trump asks you to design his 2020 re-election campaign logo and associated materials. Do you take the job?
      3. Who would win in a street fight: Paula Scher or Michael Bierut?
      4. Unpack the following quote attributed to Aaron Draplin: “Stuff comes and goes. One year it’s this style and the next year there’s something new. That’s everywhere though, right?”
Be sure to include your name in the document file name before you upload it. That way we’ll know it’s yours.
  • Accepted file types: pdf.
  • 4) Finally, share your work with us.

  • Don't forget to either upload a PDF of your portfolio or include a link to your website. 'Cause we like looking at pretty things too.
